ABOUT THE HOCKEY:
INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel host the Kalamazoo Wings for the final time this season. In the season series, the Fuel are 9-3-1-0 against the K-Wings. After today, they will meet with Kalamazoo one more time in the final regular season game of the year on April 14 in Kalamazoo.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met was last weekend where the K-Wings visited Indy for a two game series. On Saturday, the Fuel battled back after going down 2-0 to force overtime but ultimately lost 4-3. The Fuel bounced back on Sunday with a 2-1 win in regulation that marked the Fuel’s 38th win of the season, the most they’ve had in a single season in franchise history.
WAY TO GO, WIDEMAN
After breaking the Fuel franchise single season record for most points last weekend, forward Alex Wideman has only added to his tally with a three game goal streak through the last three games. He is already having his best year yet with 67 points in 63 games this season.
SOLIDIFIED STANDINGS
The Fort Wayne Komets clinched the fourth place spot in the Central division last night meaning that the playoff teams are set. It is most likely that the Fuel will face the Toledo Walleye in the first round as Indy keeps hold of third place in the division. The Central is the first division to have all four playoff teams clinch.
NONPROFIT OF THE GAME:
Guardians of the Children
The mission of Guardians of the Children is to recognize and react to child abuse and educate the public to do the same; to serve as advocates to provide strength and stability to families in crisis; and be an answer to the prayer of an abused child or teen for courage, support, and protection.
GOC is a Biker Organization also dedicated to protecting the victims of child abuse. Their alliances as Bikers allow us the ability to call upon resources that might not generally be available to the public at large.
If you would like to learn more about the Guardians of the Children, they will be behind Section 215 during the game!
