INDIANAPOLIS - The Fuel will host Fort Wayne on Black Friday for the third meeting this season between the two teams. It will be their first meeting in over a month and their first of four between now and December 9.
LAST TIME OUT
The game was in Fort Wayne and Indy started on top and never looked back. Three goals in the first two periods was too much to overcome for the Komets. Zach Driscoll was nearly perfect, stopping 32 of 33 shots with his only goal allowed coming on a power play late in the third period of the game. The Fuel would walk away 3-1 victors to their first win of the season.
MARTIN THE MARTIAN
Historically, Jon Martin has loved going up against the Komets. In his career, he has four points in five games against Fort Wayne, including two goals in two games against them this season. Martin started the year off hot, recording five points in the first four games, but has cooled down as of late, finding only three points in his last seven games.
Look for this to be a get right game for Jon Martin to get back on track heading into the holiday season.
AROUND THE DIVISION
Currently, the Toledo Walleye sit atop the Central West Division with 18 points, just one point ahead of the Iowa Heartlanders. Fort Wayne, Wheeling, and Cincinnati all sit in the middle of the pack separated by just one point. It’s a long season, but the Fuel are currently last in the division with seven points, still looking to get hot moving forward.
