INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel are headed to Newfoundland for the first time in team history to take on the Growlers for a three game set this weekend. They will look to move into second place in the Central division after a non-division weekend.
LAST TIME OUT
These two teams have never met, however, in the Growlers last outing they faced the Maine Mariners in Maine and lost 4-2 on Sunday, January 28. Goaltender Luke Cavallin allowed four goals on 39 shots.
SCOUTING REPORT
The Newfoundland Growlers are currently 18-18-7-0 with 43 points and a third place spot in the North division. They’re ranked 15th in the league, just two places behind Indy’s 13th. Over their last ten games, the Growlers are 2-6-2-0. Through the season, they have been outscored by their opponents 158 to 135.
BRIGHT SPODS
Since returning to the lineup, Matus Spodniak has had an important role in the Fuel’s offense. He’s on a three game point streak and is averaging a point per game through his last five games. He had the Fuel’s lone goal in their last game.
