INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel will host the Fort Wayne Komets on Saturday night. This is the first time the Komets will visit the new home of the Fuel, the Fishers Event Center.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams played each other was last night in Fort Wayne where the Komets shutout the Fuel 3-0 with 34 shots on goal, the most Indy has allowed in one game this season.
READ U, BROCHU
Goaltender Brett Brochu claimed the first star of the evening last night after shutting out the Fuel and stopping all 28 shots he faced. Indy knows Brochu well from his time with Fort Wayne and if they face him again today, they will have to figure out how to get by him.
TOO MANY MEN
Indy took a rare two too many men calls last night and while they didn’t give up any power play goals, the penalties were clear momentum stoppers for the Fuel and allowed Fort Wayne more time with the puck and more chances. Additionally, Nick Grime took two nearly identical slashing penalties with about a minute and a half left in both the first and second periods. Eliminating those small disadvantages will keep the Fuel in the race.
