INDIANAPOLIS- After a long week against Florida and Cincinnati on Sunday, the Fuel looks to gain more points in the central division. The Fort Wayne Komets are also coming off of a divisional shutout win, with tensions high as the fight for the playoffs continues.
LAST TIME OUT
The Fuel traveled to the Jungle for a Sunday game earlier this month. The night was a success, with the Fuel outscoring and outshooting the Komets in a 3-1 win. When it came to penalties, however, a total of 168 penalty minutes were tallied. In the third period (and post-buzzer) alone, 148 minutes were racked up, and three Fuel players were suspended.
DISCIPLINE, DISCIPLINE, DISCIPLINE
With both teams scoring on the power play the last time they met, staying disciplined will be essential, even when it’s a rival team. The Fuel took after-whistle penalties in recent games, costing the team a goal. Discipline matters when taking penalties, when puck protection is needed, and when thwarting odd-man rushes.
