INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel will host the Kalamazoo Wings on Friday night to kick off their weekend. After hosting Kalamazoo, they will head to Cincinnati for a Saturday night away game before returning home to host the Fort Wayne Komets on Sunday.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met was January 25, 2025 when the Fuel visited Kalamazoo and claimed a 4-1 win over the K-Wings on a Saturday night. That was the Fuel’s lone game that weekend. Nathan Burke had two goals, including a power play goal and the game winning goal. Colin Bilek had a three-point night while Ben Gaudreau had 28 saves in net.
PLAYOFF PICTURE
This will be an important game in the Central division standings as Kalamazoo and Indy are tied with 54 points through 56 games played. The K-Wings have the edge with two more wins than Indy but the Fuel have earned more single points in overtime games. Both teams sit just one point behind the Bloomington Bison who currently claim the final playoff spot in the division, but it’s tight race.
DISCIPLINED OFFENSE
The K-Wings head into this game with the second least amount of penalty minutes in the league this season. With just about twenty more minutes than Tahoe, Kalamazoo’s 562 PIM’s is easily the fewest in the Central division and their discipline has helped them climb the standings after a rough start to the season. They come into this game 7-1-2-0 through their last ten. The Fuel will have to stay out of the box and be perfect on the penalty kill to win this game.
