INDIANAPOLIS- To close out the regular season, the Fuel head up to Toledo for a Sunday matchup. What seems like a normal regular season closer is a primer as these two teams will face off in the first round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs beginning next week.
ROOKIE MAGIC
Head-to-head this season, Nick Grima, Kevin Lombardi and Owen Robinson are among the top leaders in points against the Walleye. Grima has three points, all assists, while Lombardi has two points, both goals. Robinson has two points, both assists. Lombardi and Robinson scored critical goals against Kalamazoo on Friday, showing that rookies have been supporting the team on the stat sheet.
SPECIAL TEAMS
The Fuel are 23-10-0-1 when scoring on the power play. They have jumped to tenth in the league on the power play, overall in the past couple of weeks. Against the Walleye this season, they are 4/12, with 33.3% success rate on the power play. Their penalty kill against the Walleye is 2/13, at 84.6%, and their special teams units have been top-notch against these Walleye.
