FUEL FALL 4-2 ON FRIDAY NIGHT IN BLOOMINGTON

BLOOMINGTON- The Indy Fuel opened their Halloweekend in Bloomington, Illinois taking on the Bison. After each team exchanging a goal in the first period, Bloomington came up victorious in the end, 4-2 over the Fuel.

1ST PERIOD

Bloomington’s Grant Porter opened the scoring on Friday night. He put the Bison on the board at 9:57 with an unassisted goal.

Exactly twenty seconds later, Matt Petgrave and Killian Kiecker-Olson were both sent to the penalty box for holding and unsportsmanlike conduct respectively.

Those penalties were both killed off before Cody Laskosky evened the score at 1-1 with the help of Paul Ludwinski and Aaron Bohlinger at 16:44.

About a minute later, Laskosky took the game’s next penalty. He was called for slashing at 17:52. Tommy Budnick was called for high sticking just six seconds later, joining him in the box. The Fuel killed off both of those penalties.

After one period, Bloomington was outshooting Indy 10-5 despite the 1-1 tie.

2ND PERIOD

Petgrave took a high sticking minor penalty at 5:23, but Indy killed it off quickly.

At 12:35, Raivis Ansons scored for the Bison to make it 2-1. However, less than a minute later they headed to the penalty kill after Brenden Datema took a tripping penalty.

That is how the period ended, with the Bison up 2-1 after outshooting the Fuel, 19-12 through two.

3RD PERIOD

Michael Milne scored at 2:20 in the third period to extend the Bison’s lead to 3-1.

Less than three minutes later, Dean Loukus scored his first goal in a Fuel sweater to bring the score within one again.

With just over five minutes to go, it appeared Matt Petgrave scored to tie the game however after a review, the goal was called off.

The score returned to 3-2 in favor of the Bison before Indy pulled Adam Gajan from net in favor of the extra skater.

Vladislav Kamenev changed the score with an empty netter to put Bloomington up, 4-2. Time expired less than a minute later and Bloomington earned the victory, remaining undefeated so far in the 2026-27 season.

Bloomington outshot the Fuel, 25-21 in the game despite getting outshot by them 9-6 in the third period.
