FISHERS- The Indy Fuel face the Toledo Walleye for the first time after being eliminated by them from the 2024-2025 playoffs. With a fresh-faced team, the Fuel look to finish Opening Weekend on a high note.
HOME ICE ADVANTAGE
Toledo always has a strong home crowd, but Fuel fans are ready for the first weekend of October hockey in the Fishers Event Center. Fuel fans will need to come out strong to help give the Fuel an advantage against a tough divisional opponent.
BATTLE OF THE TENDERS
Toledo's goaltender Carter Gylander is returning to the ice this season. He had a 2.02 goals against average against the Fuel last year. The Fuel have an arsenal of goaltenders to use this year. Ryan Ouellette faced them last year for one game and Mitchell Weeks faced them numerous times in the 2023-2024 season. However, the Walleye added some new tenders in Nolan LaLonde and Liam Soulière, while the Fuel added Owen Flores. It will be a true test for the goaltenders to block both teams’ powerful offenses.
