FISHERS- The Fuel will host the Cincinnati Cyclones for the first time this season on Saturday night. They look for their first win after back-to-back losses to Fort Wayne and Toledo last weekend. Cincinnati took a 5-3 loss against the Wheeling Nailers last week in their first game. They play the Komets on Friday before coming to Indy.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met was last year on March 21, 2025 when the Fuel took a 3-1 win over Cincinnati. Kevin Lombardi was the first goalscorer for the Fuel in that game. Jordan Martin also had an assist that game. Those two will return to the ice for this battle against Cincy.
FAMILIAR FACES
There has been a lot of movement in the Central division this offseason. Current Fuel forward Lee Lapid played 93 games for the Cyclones from 2022 to 2024, where he had 69 points and helped the Cyclones to the playoffs in 2023. Last year, he was with the Kalamazoo Wings, also in the Central division. Sahil Panwar already faced his former team in a preseason game as he played fifteen games for the Bloomington Bison last season.
FIRST PRO WEEK
A lot of Fuel players saw big firsts this last weekend. Goaltender Owen Flores had his first professional start and earned one of the top saves of the week from the ECHL for a save made against the Toledo Walleye on Saturday. Brett Moravec had the lone goal for the Fuel in that game and it was his first pro goal as well.
