KALAMAZOO- The Indy Fuel fell to the Toledo Walleye 6-2 yesterday, but hope to bounce back against the Kalamazoo Wings to finish off the weekend. The last time these two teams saw each other is when the Fuel eliminated their 2025 Kelly Cup Playoffs chances, last season.
5v5 MAGIC
Staying at even-strength is going to be key for the Fuel, as they allowed four special teams goals yesterday. Coach Duncan Dalmao has stated he feels his team plays their best when its a 5-on-5 matchup. Kalamazoo also lost on Halloween to the Bloomington Bison who scored two power play goals, so staying out of the box is essential for a high-compete game.
PROTECT THE GOALTENDER
Last night, rookie goaltender Owen Flores saw 51 shots. The Fuel’s defense has to tighten up to protect their goaltender against other high-offensive teams, especially on special teams, as one slip could lead to an odd-man rush. Extra goaltender defense will be key against another Central Division opponent.
