BLOOMINGTON- Despite the wintery conditions off the ice, the Fuel head to Bloomington for a two-game weekend. Saturday will mark the seventh time these teams face off against each other.
SPECIAL TEAMS SNOWDOWN
The Bison are sitting at a 26.3% success rate on the power play against the Fuel this season, and they are sixth in the league overall on the power play. For the Fuel, their penalty kill against the Bison is 73.7%, allowing in five goals. Overall, the Fuel’s away penalty killing sits at sixteenth in the league, while their overall is at 21st.
DEFENSE IS THE NEW OFFENSE?
Bloomington defenseman Nikita Sedov is the Bison’s leading scorer against the Fuel this season with six points. On the contrary, Matt Petgrave is the Fuel’s active leading scorer against the Bison. He has two goals and three assists in six games against the Bison. Both teams will need to be cautious with the offense-minded defenseman.
