FISHERS- The Fuel have announced on Wednesday that they have re-signed defenseman Kyle Aucoin to a standard player contract for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
Aucoin, 24, returns to Indy after four regular season games and five playoff games, where he tallied two assists. Before beginning his professional career, the 6’0 defenseman played one season at Miami University of Ohio, where he was named an NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete.
Prior to that, the Hinsdale, Illinois native spent four years at Harvard University. There, he became an ECAC Champion in his first year, while majoring in Entrepreneurship. He was also recognized as a USHL Scholar-Athlete of the Year in the 2019-20 season.
Aucoin was drafted in the sixth round of the 2020 NHL Draft by the Detroit Red Wings, 156th overall. His three younger siblings all play hockey, along with his father, Adrian, who played in the NHL for seventeen seasons.
