FISHERS- The Indy Fuel announced on Wednesday, Christian Horn will be the assistant coach beginning in the 2026-27 season.
Horn, 33, returns to Indy, having played five games for the Fuel during the 2019-20 season. In those five games, he tallied one goal and one assist. The Plymouth, Minnesota native also has playing experience with four other ECHL teams, most recently the Utah Grizzlies from 2019 to 2021.
After retiring from playing, he joined the Grizzlies behind the bench as assistant coach from 2023 to 2025 after one year as assistant coach of the Cardiff Devils of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) in 2022-23 where they finished with a 29-14-6-5 record.

My time here as a player was short, but incredible,” Horn said. “To be part of an organization that prides itself on success and working with good people, it was a no brainer when the opportunity presented itself. I’d like to thank Jesse Messier for believing in me and the Hallett family for giving me a great new city to call home. Most of all, to the fans, let's get things rolling.”
The former forward also played for three teams in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) after spending two years at St. Lawrence University.
In 2012, when he captained the Benilde-St. Margaret’s high school hockey team in Minnesota, he had 58 points in 25 games and helped lead them to a coveted Minnesota State Championship.
