INDY FUEL WEEK 11 RESULTS: 2-1-0-0, INDY FUEL OVERALL RECORD: 27-11-1-0 Overall (1st Central)

GAME 37 - FRIDAY, JANUARY 20 VS CINCINNATI - 6-0 W

The Indy Fuel hosted the Cincinnati Cyclones to kick off the second half of their season. The Fuel had just one win against Cincy coming into tonight, but dominated play in a huge 6-0 win over their division rivals. Chris Van-Os Shaw had his first career hat trick and Zach Driscoll had his first career shutout.

GAME 38 - SATURDAY, JANUARY 21 AT FORT WAYNE - 4-2 W

The Fuel headed to Fort Wayne to take on the Komets and hopefully claim their fifth win of the season against them. With a two-goal game by Chad Yetman and an empty net goal, they defeated Fort Wayne 4-2 and did just that.

GAME 39 - SUNDAY, JANUARY 22 VS WHEELING - 3-1 L

The Fuel hosted the Wheeling Nailers for a Sunday afternoon matchup in an attempt to win their fifth straight game and their fourth against the Nailers this season. Despite scoring the first goal of the game, three third period goals for Wheeling gave them the win, 3-1.

  • Defenseman Patrick Gazich signed on 1/20
  • Defenseman Bryan Etter signed on 1/20
  • Forward Nate Pionk activated from reserve on 1/20
  • Forward Carson Rose placed on reserve on 1/20
  • Defenseman Keoni Texeira was loaned to Colorado (AHL) on 1/20
  • Defenseman Keoni Texeira returned to Indy on 1/23
  • Forward Kale Howarth was loaned to Rockford (AHL) on 1/23

OIL DROPS 

  • Chris Van-Os Shaw tallied his first career hat trick on Friday against Cincinnati in Indy’s 6-0 win over the Cyclones.
  • Zach Driscoll completed his first career shutout on Friday against Cincinnati in Indy’s 6-0 win over the Cyclones.
  • Chad Yetman continued his 14-game point streak through Saturday night against Fort Wayne. 
  • Alex Wideman leads the team in points with 43 and is seventh in the league in that category.
  • Chad Yetman leads the Fuel in shooting percentage with 24.3%. This is the fourth highest shooting percentage in the league.
  • Spencer Watson has recorded 113 shots so far this season which is over 10% of the teams total shots taken.
  • Shane Kuzmeski currently leads all Fuel defensemen in points with 19. This season he has scored six goals and tallied 13 assists.

TEAM NOTES

  • The Fuel remain in first place in the Central division and second place in the Western Conference with 55 points and a 27-11-1-0 record.
  • Indy has the third most major penalties in the league with 22. Only Orlando and Florida have more. 
  • The Fuel are 15-7-0-0 when scoring first in games.
  • The Fuel are ranked third in the league in road power play success with 25.8%.
  • Indy is 17-5-0-0 when outshooting their opponent this season.
  • The Fuel are ranked second in the league in home penalty killing with a 85.7% success rate.
