ABOUT THE HOCKEY:
INDIANAPOLIS- The Fuel will host the Iowa Heartlanders for the second night in a row, in hopes to claim two more points in the standings before heading to Kalamazoo to finish their weekend.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time these two teams met was last night at Indiana Farmers Coliseum where Indy took a 4-1 win in their first meeting of the season. Chase Lang scored a shorthanded goal early in the first period in his first game back from injury and the score remained 1-0 until the third period when the floodgates opened and the Fuel added three more.
STANDINGS CHECK
After a busy night in the Central division, the Heartlanders remain in last place while the Fuel remain in third with 44 points, just two behind the Fort Wayne Komets who also claimed a regulation win last night. Both Indiana based teams are creeping up on the Toledo Walleye who sit in first place with 54 points but are on a three game losing streak.
WELCOME BACK LANGER
After missing 33 games due to injury, Lang returned to the lineup last night and had quite the return. Starting the scoring less than five minutes into the game with a shorthanded goal, Lang also collected an assist, went +2 on the night and had three shots on goal. This earned him first star honors and he will look to do the same tonight.
