FISHERS- The Fuel have announced on Saturday that they have signed forward Mitchell Hoelscher to a standard player contract for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
Hoelscher, 26, re-joins the Fuel after two seasons playing in Europe, totaling 74 points in 96 games. Prior to that, he played 52 games with the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL during the 2023-24 season. He also played eighteen games for the Springfield Thunderbirds of the American Hockey League (AHL) that season. He earned his first ECHL All-Star Game appearance that season, ending with 47 points in 52 games.
During the 2022-23 season, he played six games with the Fuel, scoring nine points in those six games before earning an AHL call-up to the Thunderbirds. He then played 57 games with them that season, helping them to the playoffs.
The Waterloo, Ontario native also had 30 points in 25 games during the 2021-22 season with the Atlanta Gladiators. He played twelve games for the Belleville Senators before that.
The 6’0, left-handed forward spent four seasons with the Ottawa 67’s of the Ontario Hockey League, scoring 146 points in 203 games and helping them to the playoffs twice.
In 2017, Hoelscher won a championship with the Elmira Sugar Kings of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL), scoring 41 points in 42 games in the regular season and 18 points in 27 games in the playoffs.
