FISHERS- The Fuel will face the Cyclones three times this week and take on the Kalamazoo Wings for the first time this season on Saturday for Military Night. They will kick things off early…literally…with an Education Day game on Tuesday morning.
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3
Indy will host the Cyclones for the fourth time so far this season on Tuesday morning for their annual Education Day game starting at 10:30am. The Fuel are 1-2-0-0 against them so far this season, with their one win coming on October 25 at Fishers Event Center.
Former Fuel forward, Sahil Panwar will be one to watch as he has seven points in three games against the Fuel so far. Indy’s Laskosky, Hoelscher, and Dafoe all have recorded multi-point games against Cincy and will be important for the Fuel’s success this week.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6
After Education Day, the Fuel will travel to Cincinnati and face the Cyclones again on Friday night. In their one trip to Cincy this season, the Cyclones claimed a 4-1 victory. The lone goalscorer for Indy was Chase Dafoe in that game.
Mitchell Hoelscher was named the Fuel’s October Player of the Month after leading the team in points, averaging a point per game through the first seven games. He will be one to watch during this busy week.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7
On Saturday night, the Fuel return home to host the Kalamazoo Wings for the first time this season. They will likely see some familiar faces in defenseman Victor Hadfield, who previously played for Indy along with goaltender Mitchell Weeks. Weeks is the Indy Fuel franchise goaltending leader in games played, shutouts, and wins. In his two games so far this season, he has one win.
The Wings will play home games on Wednesday and Friday night before traveling to Indy to see the Fuel, but go into Wednesday night’s game with a 2-1-2-0 record in sixth place in the Central division behind the Komets who are in fifth.
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8
Finally, Indy will finish their weekend at home facing Cincinnati once more in a Sunday afternoon matchup. It is likely both teams will see both goaltenders at some point during the weekend that has these teams meeting three times.
